Our Mission

3 Times As Many, Inc. advances maternal and economic well-being by developing the cognitive, behavioral, and self-leadership skills that help vulnerable birthing individuals thrive during pregnancy and beyond. Our trauma-informed, adult development programs use pregnancy as a unique period of readiness for growth, helping participants strengthen executive functioning, future planning, goal attainment, and sustained engagement with healthcare and community supports. By building lifelong capabilities—not simply providing short-term services—we promote healthier births, stronger families, and greater economic mobility.

Our organization’s name comes from the statistic, 3 times as many Black women die from complications of pregnancy or childbirth than White women in the U. S., and in New York, Black women have a pregnancy-related mortality ratio that is 5 times higher than White women. We don’t believe any woman should die becoming a mother, but the fact that Black women and their families experience this devastation at such a disproportionate rate to White women is unconscionable.

As a result, We work hard to inform and affirm vulnerable birthing people by providing them with THE RESOURCES THAT WILL FACILITATE ENGAGING, EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR ACTUALIZING GOOD HEALTH BEHAVIORS.

We also facilitATE THE GREAT WORK THAT THE MANY PRENATAL AND SOCIAL SERVICES ORGANIZATIONS ENGAGE IN DAILY. ADULT EDUCATION PRACTICE REQUIRES DISTINCT SKILL SETS. An effective education also includes A COMPREHENSIVE, RIGOROUS curriculUM, OUTLINING the SCOPE AND SEQUENCE OF evidenced based CONTENT.

We ALSO support and facilitate research to determine the causes of the disproportionality of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality in black women and babies that continue to confound the medical world.
